Helping Students Become Confident
Writers and Thinkers
Lucy’s Learning Lab supports students in developing their ideas, strengthening their writing skills, and building confidence. Based in Boston and working virtually with students everywhere.
Who Lucy’s Learning Lab Is For:
Lucy works with students of all ages who want to become stronger, more confident writers and thinkers.
Some students are looking to deepen their skills and go beyond what they’re getting in school. Others need an individualized approach to help things click, whether that means building core writing skills, improving executive function, or finding new ways to express their ideas.
Lucy has particular expertise supporting individuals with ADHD, autism, learning differences, and twice-exceptional (2E) profiles. She tailors her approach to how each student thinks and learns.
A Different Approach to Writing and Learning
At Lucy’s Learning Lab, writing isn’t just about completing assignments. It’s a way of thinking, learning, and making sense of ideas.
Lucy’s approach meets students where they are. Rather than relying on one-size-fits-all methods, she works with each student to develop strategies that work for them. Sessions typically include a blend of writing coaching, learning support, and mentorship.
Just as important is the relationship. Lucy pays close attention to how each student is engaging in real time, adjusting her approach to ensure they feel understood, supported, and appropriately challenged. This responsiveness helps students build confidence and make meaningful progress.
Writing Coaching
Writing is a tool for thinking. Through thoughtful instruction and systematic practice, students learn to develop and communicate their ideas with clarity and confidence.
Learning Support
Students develop the underlying skills that make learning possible, including planning, focus, organization, and flexibility. The focus is on helping students learn how to learn so they can approach their work with greater independence and confidence.
Neurodiversity Focus
Lucy specializes in supporting students with autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and twice-exceptional profiles. She takes a strengths-based approach, using creative and flexible strategies to support students’ growth.

Testimonials
What parents and students are saying about their experience
Lucy has been incredibly helpful in my writing journey! Before I began working with her, I had a lot of trouble structuring assignments. Writing was something that felt impossible because I couldn't figure out how to form an argument and explain my reasoning in an organized and coherent way. It felt overwhelming and like something I could never be good at. I still struggle with writing sometimes, but meeting with Lucy has fully changed my perspective and made it a lot easier. She helps me distill my thoughts and get work done efficiently and effectively.

Lucy is a very thoughtful and effective tutor. I love when one of my children leaves up his/her Google Doc after a session because I get a glimpse into how Lucy carefully tailored the lesson to the interests and needs of the child -- always with fun and humor! I also really appreciate Lucy's awareness of twice-exceptional learners and the helpful feedback she has given through that lens.

Lucy is a total gem. She is my son's favorite tutor. Not only does Lucy tailor her lessons to his specific needs, she has been able to connect with him in a way that reinforces his confidence as a writer and his sense of self. As a twice-exceptional (2e) learner, my son used to loathe writing; now he happily dives into brainstorming, organizing, crafting, and editing his written work. Lucy is a master at keeping him focused and motivated with rewards and clear expectations. Not only that, she actually teaches grammar, which is surprisingly absent in many school curriculums. Lucy combines proven, evidence-based teaching methods with the flexibility needed to effectively support students who are neurodivergent (ND), learning disabled (LD), and have 2e profiles.
